FAQ

Is this a State Championship / Jack Qualifier?

Yes. This is a state championship and will qualify you for the American Royal and the Jack Daniels Invitational

Will I have to pay a camping fee as well or is that covered in the entry fee?

Your entry fee includes camping on Friday night.

Is electric provided?

Yes... 20/30/50A is available but spots are limited for 50A. Please indicate your specific needs in the free form text section where we ask to describe your rig. We will do what we can to accomodate

Can we ask to be put near a specific team?

Yes you can. As with the electic, you can put your specific needs on your entry form and we will do what we can to accomodate you.

Are these campsites?

Yes they are. Each spot is a campsite that has its own electric / water / sewer. The larger rigs for things like Class A's cannot be put too close to the turn in as the spots right around it are smaller.

How many teams can come?

We are limited to 40 teams so after we reach 40.. teams will end up on a waiting list

What happens if it snows (alot)?

Well.. its called the "Polar Bear BBQ Challenge" for a good reason. The show will go on and no refunds will be made because of the snow. Unless we cancel or the campground cancels.. no refunds due to weather!

Will our spots be plowed?

Yes. This is a year round campground so it is in the best interest of the campground owners to ensure that the campground is in the best condition possible. The roads leading up to it I'm told will be taken care of as well.

Many campgrounds say that you cannot bring your own wood. Is this the case here?

No. The owners have had BBQ contests here and they know that everyone brings their own favorite types of wood to cook with. Becaus of that, there isn't a restriction. We just ask that what you bring with you, you take with you. Please don't leave your site a mess.

What amenities are available?

There is a general store that contains some camping needs but is limited. There is also a short order diner that can fix you breakfast / lunch / dinner if you like. Menus will be provided to you when you check in on Friday for your convenience. Ice will be available for a small charge at the general store. They also have the ability to fill propane tanks if needed. They also sell wood (for firepits). Each site typically has a firepit and a picnic table. You can check out more at their website or facebook page

Does this contest have a Facebook page?

Yes it does. We will try and continually post updates to the contest on the facebook page. When you enter, we will also be sending you updates via your email address as well. Here is the facebook page for the contest.
